    Top 5 Laziest Dog Breeds

When most people think about pet dogs, they think about happy, hopping bundles of fur. There are countless breeds of dogs out there, and numerous of them do need a good amount of physical exercise.

They need a large backyard to run around in all day so that they can expend all that pent-up energy. Nevertheless, there are other breeds that are on the reverse end of the spectrum. If you do not have the time or energy to play with your doggie for several hours a day, then there are particular breeds perfect for your way of living.

Here are a few dog breeds that prefer napping over running.

    1. Chow Chow - They often tend to be relatively aloof, but their independent nature means it will not mind when you commit for work in the morning. They can get over 70 pounds in weight, but they make good snuggle partners.

    2. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - Bred predominantly as a lapdog and partner, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel succeeds at its original job. The breed is delicate, affectionate and would much prefer to be inside next to you than doing any sort of vigorous activity.

    3. Basset Hound - They are very lazy pet dogs that are delicate and loving towards their loved ones. Although they require small exercise, potential owners should be prepared for a lot of drool.

    4. Shih Tzu - Shih Tzus usually tend to not be particularly fond of going outdoors. Many times, they will get plenty of exercise simply walking the apartment all day.

    5. Boston Terrier - Their weight typically maxes out at 25 pounds, so even if you are constrained to a studio apartment, this pooch will not mind. Boston Terriers are relatively non-active. One walk a day is all you need to make sure these dogs get a good workout.

Azawakh Information

Morphology is very similar to that of the Middle Eastern and South Indian sight hounds, all swift, high-bred coursing hounds, although there are several obvious differences. For example, a short, flat back combined with long legs place the hips higher than the withers. The Azawakh is almond eyed and thin. It moves with a distinctly feline gait and can be found in a variety of colors as well as varying degrees of refinement, though format is basically constant. The standards call for a hound from 33 to 55 pounds (15 to 25 kg); its height is 24 to 29 inches (61 to 74 cm). The coat is very short and almost absent on the belly. Its bone structure shows clearly through the skin and musculature. Its muscles are "dry", meaning that they are quite flat, unlike the Greyhound and Whippet. In this respect it is similar in type to the Saluki.

Relative to its native environment, the smooth-coated Azawakh hound mentally and structurally manifests his vocation as hunter, protector and companion. Quick, attentive, distant, proud and alert, he remains instinctively reserved with strangers and gentle with those he loves. Socialize well. Especially slender and elegant, his frame and muscles are visible under a dry, fine skin. The Azawakh has a natural tendency to guard. Be sure you are this dog's calm, but firm, confident and consistent pack leader. Does best with an owner who is even-tempered, displaying a natural, but gentle authority over the dog. Independent and exceptionally fast, these dogs can reach up to 37 mph (60 km/h).
